How many cloth nappies will I need?

For full time cloth nappy use, it is recommend to have 30 nappies so that you will have:

• 10 ready for the day
• 10 in the wash
• 10 drying

As baby gets older you will go through less cloth nappies a day, you will then be able to go a little longer between washing, or keep washing everyday but you won’t need to rush to bring them from the line.

However remember no matter how many cloth nappies you choose to use, even one cloth nappy a day will save 365 disposable nappies from landfill in 1 year.

Adjustable size

Our one-size cloth nappies are designed to grow with your baby, fitting from approximately 3.5kg to 13kg (around newborn to 2–3 years). Multiple rise and waist snap settings make it easy to achieve a secure, comfortable fit for a wide range of body shapes, from long and lean babies to those with adorable chunky thighs.

Chubby Legs

This nappy is very adjustable in the fit and can suit most babies and toddlers even with chubby legs.  But if you have a baby with gorgeous big chubby legs you may want to look into our toddler nappies, these suit from approx. 9kg to 20kg.

Cleaning your Cloth Nappies

Keeping your cloth nappies clean is easy with a simple two-wash routine. Start with a pre-wash every 1–2 days to remove most of the urine and soiling, followed by a longer main wash to give your nappies a thorough clean. Using the correct detergent, water temperature and wash settings will help keep your nappies fresh, absorbent and free from odours.

If you’re worried about cleaning poo off nappies than you may want to use Bamboo Disposable Liners.  These are placed on top of the nappy to catch the solid wastes.  When dirty, the liner along with any poo can be disposed of, taking the poop with it.

How much absorbency your baby will need?

This will vary between each baby and will change as they grow and each day can be different.  Like us, some days we will drink more and need to wee more, this is the same for babies, you have to remember, what goes in will come out.  Some babies will be able to go 2 hours between changes with 1 insert. Others will need 2 inserts for this time.
